This very site has gone through many different looks throughout the years, since I started blogging back in 2000.

What you see here is the design I am most proud of, not only because it is the most awesome one yet, but also because I was finally able to incorporate some of my favorite memories in photographic form.

A lot of important things in my life have changed in the past 2 years or so and more are on the way. I’m happy to bring them to you via this updated design.

Of course what brings you here (besides Google searches for “Conan O’Brien guests“, “definition of cynicism“, and “Citi Field ribs“) is my witty retelling of real life stories through the eyes of a New Yorker. And no worries, all of that is still here too and will continue to be.

Makes my early web design attempts back in the 90′s not seem quite as bad.

1) Baseball – Namely my New York Mets, who have me on the Mets Rollercoaster this season.

2) Having time to myself, including a little bit of silence. Doesn’t happen that often these days…

3) Turtles – Including my several pet turtles, just awesome creatures all around.

4) Discovering new music and listening to my old favorites. Paramore and Dave Matthews Band, thank you.

5) Taking photographs – I always enjoy capturing what I see and sharing it.

What are some of the things that make you happy?

You are wonderful and amazing and special and I thought the best way to show you how much I appreciate that was to try to capture all that you are in a work of art.

Then I remembered a certain new Threadless t-shirt I had seen recently called Solitary Dream Pt2 by Budi Satria Kwan, which also features skyscrapers and sharks. And while I usually prefer t-shirts with dinosaurs on them, I did plan on purchasing one for myself.

Note any resemblance between the two?

Not only do both designs consist of skyscrapers and sharks as seen from underneath looking up, but they both similarly feature a sun or light source in the upper righthand corner.

I mean, it all could be a gigantic coincidence, especially considering not that many people actually watch (or have even heard of) ABC’s Shark Tank.

But what if Budi Kwan saw the Shark Tank logo and decided to make a t-shirt design based off of it?
